Chinese device maker, No.1 has a new mid-range rugged phablet offering for the markets – No.1 X2i. The device has a stylish design and rubber coverings around the sides which allows it absorb shock. In terms of ruggedity, it is IP68 certified for dust- & water resistance, scratchproof and pressure proof.
Running Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, the No.1 X2i sports a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display, measures 166.3 x 85.0 x 14.7mm in dimensions and weighs less than 230 grams. It packs a quad-core Mediatek MT6735 processor clocked at 1.3GHz with 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage space.
In the camera segment, the device has a 5-megapixels front facing camera for capturing selfies and a rear facing 13-megapixels camera with LED flash. The X2i supports 4G LTE connectivity and is backed by a 4000mAh battery which should last some hours of usage on a single charge.
More rugged phones are now available in the market across all levels be it low-end, mid-range or high-end; companies like No.1 are one of those targeting the mid-range and low-end sector while the high-end scenes also has offerings from Samsung with the Galaxy Active series.
