Less than two weeks after the launch of the Nokia 7, HMD Global has officially announced its new entry-level smartphone – the Nokia 2. It is priced at EUR 99 (~ USD 115 / INR 7500) and set to be released globally by mid-November in Copper / Black, Pewter / Black, and Pewter / White colour options.
Available in single and dual SIM variants, the Nokia 2 sports a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD LTPS LCD In-Cell Touch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, 3.5mm headphone jack, microUSB (USB 2.0) port, rear facing 8MP AF camera with LED flash and front 5MP FF camera for selfies.
According to HMD, the smartphone delivers up to two days of battery life on a single charge thanks to its 4,100mAh battery. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor clocked at 1.3GHz, paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB built-in storage space (expandable up to 128GB via microSD).
The Nokia 2 runs the near-stock version of Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS and users will get the Google products such as Google Photos (unlimited photos and video storage) and Google Assistant. It supports 4G LTE networks with VoLTE, measures 143.5 x 71.3 x 9.30 mm and is IP52-certified for drip protection.
