Microsoft has taken the wraps off another feature phone but this still lingers with the Nokia brand – the Nokia 215 and Nokia 215 Dual SIM.
Both the Nokia 215 and 215 Dual SIM offers the same specs with the difference only being the SIM capacity. The budget phone is internet enabled and comes pre-loaded with Opera mini for web browsing; twitter and Facebook (app and messenger) for social networking alongside MSN weather and Bing search.
The Nokia 215 still uses the Nokia Series 30+ OS, has a built in torchlight, in-built MP3 player, FM Radio and a front VGA camera. The handset offers 29days of standby time for the single SIM variant and 21days for the dual SIM option. Connectivity options on the device includes a 3.5mm AV connector, Bluetooth 3.0 with SLAM and connects to the internet via 2G and Dual Band EDGE, a 2.4-inch QVGA (320 x 240 pixels) 166ppi, packs a 1100mAh battery and a microSD card slot which adds additional 32GB storage space.
The Nokia 215 and Nokia 215 Dual SIM costs $29 ands would be available in Africa, Asia, Middle East and Europe by Q1 2015. The $29 price stated is before subsidies and tax are added and this could vary according to different regions. Bright Green, White and Black colour options available.
We would definitely see the Nokia 215 and 215 Dual SIM debut in Nigeria soon but the way the Nigerian Naira is performing against the US Dollars is still very poor which means the device could cost around N5000 to N5,500 (or could even cost less).
