HMD Global Oy has added the camera-centric Nokia 7.1 to its mid-range smartphone line-up. It is expected to slot right into the Nokia 7 series which already has the Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 7.
The Nokia 7.1 is equipped with 12MP f/1.8 (RGB) + 5MP f/2.4 (monochrome) dual rear cameras with Carl ZEISS Optics and AI technology. The camera has features such as Pro UI camera mode for manual control and Dual Sight mode to take photos and videos with a playful twist. The front notch houses the 8MP camera with f/2.2 lens.
The smartphone has a 5.84-inch PureDisplay screen with 2244 x 1080 pixels (FHD+) resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio, 80% screen-to-body ratio and support for HDR 10 and real-time SDR to HDR conversion. It sports a 6000 series aluminum frame with diamond-cut colored chamfers, Glass on the front and back, rear fingerprint sensor and USB Type-C port.
Internally, it is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core mobile platform paired with either 3GB of RAM with 32GB storage or 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. Both storage options are expandable up to 400GB. It joins Google Android One program and will enjoy all benefits.
Power is supplied by a 3,060mAh battery which promises a full day of usage. For premium quality audio output, the new Nokia True Wireless Earbuds (optional) will deliver up to 14 hours of audio entertainment. The Nokia 7.1 will arrive in Gloss Midnight Blue and Gloss Steel.
The Nokia 7.1 will go on sale in the US starting at US$ 349 for the 3GB + 32GB model. The European market will get the 3GB + 32GB model for €UR 319 and the 4GB + 64GB model for €UR 349. Pre-orders begins today (Oct 5) and sales will commence on October 28.
