Nokia (Nokia Technologies) has announced OZO – the world’s first commercially available virtual reality camera for professionals content curators.
The VR Camera was announced in an Industry Event in Los Angeles, California, the idea was conceived at the company’s R&D facility in Finland and manufacturing will take place in Finland too.
Commenting on the launch of the Nokia OZO VR Camera, President of Nokia Technologies, Ramzi Haidamus said;

OZO aims to advance the next wave of innovation in VR by putting powerful tools in the hands of professionals who will create amazing experiences for people around the world. With OZO, we plan to be at the heart of this new world.”
OZO captures spatial audio and stereoscopic 3D video through eight synchronised global shutter sensors and eight integrated microphones. Film content on the device can be published for commercially available VR Viewing hardware such as Occulus Rift.
Towards the shipment and formal launch date which is by Q4 2015, Nokia is expected to finalise the full technical specifications and the pricing information of the OVO.
