Maker of accessories, Trinity has announced the NuAns NEO – the first smartphone under the NuAns brand. The 5-inch Windows 10 Mobile smartphone costs JPY 39,800 (about USD 323 excluding taxes) and is available for sale SIM-lock free starting January 2016. It is however already available on pre-sale from the MVNO operator of U NEXT – U mobile.
The NuAns NEO has an interesting design and it has a variety of cases made from different materials (up to 64) which can be changed to user’s preference. It sports a 5-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD), a pixel density of 295ppi and Anti-Fingerprint fluorine body coating.
Under the hood, the device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 MSM8952 64-bit processor clocked at 1.5GHz with Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB built-in storage space and for additional storage up to 128GB, there is a microSD card slot.
For photography, there is a rear facing 13MP f/2.0 camera with LED flash and a front facing 5MP camera for selfies as well as video chats. Connectivity options on the NuAns NEO includes – 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth, NFC Type A / B / Felica, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou and USB OTG.
The NuAns NEO uses the USB 2.0 Type-C port for charging and supports Continuum feature; it measures 141 x 74.2 x 11.3mm in dimensions, weighs 150 grams in size and is backed by a 3300mAh battery with Quick Charging 2.0 and promises up to 960 minutes of talk time.
