Following the nubia Red Magic and Red Magic Mars, ZTE’s nubia brand has unveiled its latest high-end gaming smartphone – the nubia Red Magic 3 in China. It is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 7nm mobile platform – the same used on fellow gaming smartphones – Black Shark 2 and Vivo iQOO, and comes pre-loaded with Red Magic OS 2.0 (based on Android 9.0 Pie).
The nubia Red Magic 3 has an internal cooling system which combines turbo fan and liquid cooling components to increase effective heat transfer by 500%. It packs a 6.65-inch FHD+ AMOLED 19.5:9 display with 90hz screen refresh rate and HDR support, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack and stereo speakers with DTS:X and 3D surround sound.
Photography is handled by a 16MP (f/2.0) selfie camera and a single rear 48MP (f/1.7) camera with Sony IMX586 sensor, Dual LED flash, 80.32° wide angle lens, 8K HD video capture and 1920FPS slow-motion shooting. With ‘Red Magic Game Space 2.0’ feature, all the phone’s gaming controls and settings can be assessed in just one spot.
Backed by a 5,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging, 27W USB PD and Quick Charge 4.0, the gaming phone has a customisable rear RGB lighting strip for notifications, touch-sensitive shoulder triggers for gaming control, noise-cancelling microphone and rear fingerprint sensor embedded with gaming button. The device is also compatible with the nubia Red Magic eSports box.
Pricing and Availability
The nubia Red Magic 3 will go on sale in China from May 3, 2019 and will roll out globally later in May 2019 starting with Canada, Europe, the UK and USA. It is available in Black, Camouflage, Flame Red and Red with Blue colours and the different memory, storage and pricing options can be found below:
