nubia’s gaming arm, RedMagic has unveiled two new smartphones – RedMagic 6 and RedMagic 6 Pro, a new smartwatch – the RedMagic Watch. The smartphones are the world’s first to feature up to 165Hz adaptive refresh rate screens as well as Android 11 (RedMagic OS 4.0), Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 octa-core mobile platform for 5G (SA/NSA) connectivity and ICE 6.0 Multi-dimensional Cooling System, which combines vapor chamber, thermal transfer metals and turbofan (18,000 RPM on the main model and 20,000 RPM on the Pro).
The RedMagic 6 has a 6.8-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 30Hz – 165Hz adaptive screen fresh rate, 360Hz multi-touch sampling rate and up to 500Hz one-finger touch sampling rate. The fingerprint scanner is embedded into the display and gamers can take advantage of the touch-sensitive shoulder triggers which is equipped with 400Hz touch sampling rate for smoother operation.
Photography is handled by a vertically aligned triple camera setup consisting of 64MP primary, 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro cameras. The rest of the specs include 8MP selfie camera, up to 18GB LPDDR5 RAM, up to 512GB (UFS 3.1) storage, 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5.1, and USB Type-C port. The basic model is backed by a 5,050mAh battery with 66W fast charging while the Pro model is backed by a 4,500mAh battery with 120W fast charging.
