ZTE has announced a new high-end smartphone under its NUBIA sub-brand and second from the Nubia Z11 family series after the Nubia Z11 Mini. Dubbed the Nubia Z11 Max, the massive 6-inch phablet sets it’s sight on the Xiaomi Max phablet with most of the key specs and pricing about similar.
Running Android Lollipop OS with Nubia UI 3.9.9, the ZTE Nubia Z11 Max sports a 6-inch (1920 x 1080) Full HD Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 covering, NubiaArc 4.0 design and a 4000mAh battery Nubia’s NeoPower 2.0 tech. It is powered by an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB built-in storage space.
For photography, the device has a a 16MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, Sapphire Glass protection, dual-tone LED flash, and a front 8MP camera with f/2.4 aperture and 80-degree wide-angle lens capture. It has a USB Type-C port, Fingerprint Sensor, Hi-Fi decoder chip and amplifier and supports Dual 4G LTE SIMs with VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.
It measures 159.15 x 82.25 x 7.4 mm in dimensions, weighs 185 grams and supports up to 200GB more space via microSD. The standard Nubia Z11 Max Model will go on sale in Gold, Grey and Silver colours on June 16, in China for CNY 1999 (USD 304 or EUR 267). A limited Cristiano Ronaldo edition will launch days later on June 18 for CNY 2299 (USD 349 or EUR 307).
The special limited edition mentioned above will come with imprint of the famous player’s profile and autograph into the rear of the device. It will also comes with extras such as Cristiano Ronaldo wallpapers, a Cristiano Ronaldo protective case, and a selfie stick.
The decision to go with C. Ronaldo as the Global brand ambassador by NUBIA (ZTE) may have been as a result of Huawei signing up Lionel Messi as brand ambassador to market the Huawei P9 and P9 Plus smartphones.
