Just last week, NVIDIA announced the affordable Shield Tablet K1 powered by the Tegra K1 processor for gamers. A new tablet from the company called the Shield Tablet X1 has been spotted on GFXBench benchmark listing.
As the naming suggests, the NVIDIA Shield Tablet X1 is powered by the much more powerful Octa-core NVIDIA Tegra X1 processor (4x ARM Cortex A57 + 4x ARM Cortex A53) with 256-core Maxwell GPU but the listing incorrectly states it as a quad-core. The X1 has twice the power of the K1 and has the capacity to stand against supercomputers and game consoles.
The tablet sports a 8-inch multi-touch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels (Full HD). It is equipped with 3GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage space out of which 25GB is user available. There is no information on the cameras (both front and rear) but the OS will be the current latest – Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Connectivity will be handled by Wi-Fi 802.11n 2×2 MIMO (Dual Band), Bluetooth, GPS / GLONASS and 9-axis (G-sensor compass, gyro) motion sensors are also onboard. The NVIDIA Shield Tablet X1 has all chances of being unveiled at (or before) the CES 2016 in January.
