Obi Mobiles has joined the long list of Indian smartphone makers and brands with its first device, the Obi Octopus S520 in India. Obi Mobiles, a company headed by former Apple CEO John Sculley joins the likes of Oppo, Motorola, Alcatel, Phillips, Panasonic, and the recently joined ASUS and Xiaomi.
The Dual-SIM Obi Octopus S520 smartphone features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display, powered by a 1.7 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6592 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB os storage (expandable up to 32GB via micro SD card), 8MP rear facing auto-focus camera with flash and a 2MP front facing camera.
Other features of the Obi Octopus S520 includes 3G, Dual Sim (Micro & Standard), 3G, GPRS, EDGE, GPS, A GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, micro USB 2.0.
The Obi Octopus S520 runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS and is powered by a 1800mAh bttery which is expected to provide 4hours of talktime and 180hours of standby time.
