Official: Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 with InfinityEdge display, starts at $1000

Dell has announced a new 2-in-1 laptop ahead of the ‎CES 2017 happening in Las Vegas this week. The Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 is based on one of the most popular Windows 10 OS devices – the regular XPS 13 Ultrabook. The price starts at $999.99 and it will be available starting January 5 (Thursday).

Asides being a refresh of the XPS 13 Ultrabook, the Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 has a thinner build, fanless design and can be used in four modes – Laptop Mode, Stand Mode, Tablet Mode and Tent Mode. In comparison, the device is smaller than the HP Spectre 360 (15%) and the Lenovo Yoga 900 and 910 (17%).

Housed in an aluminium chassis and carbon fiber finish, the convertible sports a ‎13.3-inch screen with InfinityEdge display with 5.2mm thin frames and ‎a screen resolution of either 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD) or 3200 x 1800 pixels (UltraSharp Quad HD+). It measures 12.7mm thick and weighs in at 1.2Kg.

The Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 is powered by a 7th-gen Intel Kaby Lake processors (Core i5-7Y54 & i7-7Y75) with 4GB/8GB/16GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB/1TB SSD (entry-level models have SATA support while the high-end have PCie). The rest of the specs include – HD Webcam, microSD card slot, 1W Stereo Speakers, Fingerprint Reader and full-size back-lit keyboard.

Dell has included 2x USB Type-C ports, 1x Thunderbolt 3 Port, a DisplayPort, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and a Headphone Jack. The Windows Hello Facial recognition feature has been swapped for a fingerprint reader and the ‎classic USB-A ports have been dropped, however, an adapter will be shipped with every system to connect via an external USB A port.‎

The Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 packs a lasting 48WHr battery, which promises up to 10 hours of Video on Netflix on the FHD variant and up to 7 hours on the QHD+ variant. ‎‎
