Blackberry has kept the square faced Blackberry Passport constantly in the news over the past few weeks. Though the device hasn’t been officially announced the full specifications and details has been available thanks to N4BB.
Blackberry Ltd CEO, John Chen in an interview on Wall Street Journal has announced the Blackberry Passport would go on sale in the US immediately after launch for $599 for the Unlocked (SIM Free) version. Locations like UK, Canada and UAE are top in line to get the device as the devices would launch concurrently in these location come 24th September. Within two weeks of launching, the Blackberry passport would be available worldwide including a number of Asian markets. Asides the US market, the $599 might not be applicable to all other markets due to local taxes and subsidies.

The company is hoping the Blackberry passport would be more enticing to consumers due to the the device being under priced compared to other comparable smartphones available. For comparisons sake the Apple iPhone 6 costs a$650 sans contract; the Apple iPhone 6 plus and Samsung Galaxy Note 4 would cost around $100 more (around $750).

The Blackberry passport shows off a 4.5-inch (1,440 x 1,440 pixels) display, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC with a 2.2 GHz quad-core CPU, 3GB of RAM, 32GB expandable internal storage, 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a front 2MP camera. Other features includes 4G LTE, 3450mAh battery (36 hours of talktime) and would run the Blackberry OS 10.3.
