Vivo quietly released the Vivo Y83 in China to accompany the ‘more premium mid-range’ Vivo X21i. The Y83 is the first ever smartphone to debut with the Mediatek’s new Helio P22 octa-core 12nm (MT6762) SoC, which promises to deliver a number of high-end features to mid-tier devices.
The Vivo Y83 has a large 6.22-inch (1520 x 720 pixels) HD+ display with minimal bezels and 19:9 aspect ratio, glossy mirror black, Hybrid Dual SIM slots, 4GB of RAM, 64GB built-in storage, rear facing 13MP (f/2.2) camera with LED flash and a front facing 8MP (f/2.2) camera with AI beauty features and Face Unlock.
Backed by a 3,260mAh battery, the smartphone boots Funtouch OS 4 (based on Android 8.1 Oreo OS) which delivers features such as Game Mode, Intelligent Reminders and more. It also supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz), Bluetooth 5 and GPS.
The Vivo Y83 is already available in China for a price tag of CNY 1,498 (USD 234) and will arrive in Aurora White, Polar Black and Charm Red colour options.
