Xiaomi in collaboration with Microsoft has officially released the Windows 10 ROM for Xiaomi Mi 4 LTE. The Mi 4 is the first phone from Xiaomi to get Windows 10 and has been tested as far back as April this year. The ROM only works with the China version of the device which is the LTE Model.
The Windows 10 ROM for Xiaomi Mi 4 LTE can be downloaded from the official MIUI Forum and flashed on the device. You should ensure backing up your device before ahead. For seamless upgrade experience, you should sign-up for the Windows 10 Insider program where the ROM can also be downloaded and flashing instructions are available.
As noted by the company, the ROM is not yet in a finished state and may have some bugs, even though you have to think twice before making the jump, Microsoft also needs feedback on bugs to be able to improve the experience. If you have moved to Windows 10 Mobile and you want to go back to MIUI (Android), you can easily flash back your old firmware.
More Xiaomi devices are expected to join the list soon – the Xiaomi Note series and the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 are the ones tipped for now. The Xiaomi Mi 4 which is about 17 months old packs a 5-inch 1080p Full HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB RAM and MIUI 6 (based on Android Kitkat).
