OnePlus has officially introduced its new flagship – the OnePlus 5 at an online event. The high-end device, which succeeds the OnePlus 3 (and OnePlus 3T), has a dual rear camera setup like the iPhone 7s Plus (the body design also looks familiar) and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor reserved for top shelf smartphones.
The OnePlus 5 is equipped with two main cameras – a primary 16MP camera with a wide angle lens (f/1.7) and a secondary 20MP camera with telephoto lens (f/2.6) to capture depth of field. Both are aided by Dual LED flash and Fast AutoFocus, and also offerss portrait mode, improved HDR and 2x optical zoom.
It has the same display as the OnePlus 3 (and 3T) – a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display covered with Gorilla Glass 5, measures 7.25 mm thick and promises extended battery life (13 hours and 6 minutes) despite having a smaller battery – 3,300mAh (compared to 3,400mAh on the OnePlus 3T). On the software front, it runs Oxygen OS based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS and the user friendly ‘Do Not Disturb Mode’ is still on-board.
