Ahead of its 5th anniversary celebration, OnePlus is leveraging on its latest partnership with McLaren to launch a special edition of the OnePlus 6T. Invites has been sent out for the launch of the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition at the Salute To Speed’ event, which will be held at the McLaren Technology Centre, Woking, Surrey, UK on December 11 (4:30 am EST / 9:30 am GMT).
OnePlus will also showcase the device at its 5th anniversary celebration at the G&G Creative Community in Shenzhen, China on December 14.While the invite doesn’t reveal much, the custom design of OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is expected to be handled by McLaren Marketing.
The smartphone will pack 10GB of RAM as opposed to 8GB on the high-end OnePlus 6T but the 256GB built-in storage will remain the same. Also, it will have the McLaren logo slapped on it and the UI will be themed after famous British car making brand.
It is expected to retain the 6.41-inch AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 mobile platform, In-display fingerprint sensor, NFC, vertical dual rear cameras and 3,700mAh battery. In the past, OnePlus launched the Star Wars edition of the OnePlus 5T and Marvel Avengers Edition of the OnePlus 6.
