As expected, OnePlus and luxury carmaker, McLaren have jointly unveiled the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition at McLaren’s Technology Center in Woking, England. The special variant phone now comes with 10GB of RAM along with the 256GB built-in storage on the original OnePlus 6T.
The highlight of the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is the inclusion of 30W Warp Charge 30 fast charge in place of OnePlus’s Dash charge. This new tech promises to deliver a day’s power in just 20 minutes and uses IC in both the charger and phone, and finely tuned power management software to reduce the consumption of heat on the device as well as reduce slowing down.
This edition is made from the same materials as the regular variant; however, it now sports McLaren’s signature Papaya Orange accent around the bottom-half back edges. There is also subtle carbon fiber pattern underneath the glossy glass cover, and the McLaren logo sits well below the OnePlus logo.
In the retail box, there is a Papaya Orange coloured USB-C cable, Warp Charge 30 (5V/6A) adapter, USB-C to 3.5mm dongle, McLaren branded carbon fiber shell case and a customised book celebrating the history of both companies. It also includes McLaren’s logo, the iconic Speedmark recreated in McLaren-designed F1 AA grade carbon fiber – the same used in the McLaren MCL33 2018 Formula 1 car.
Users can also enjoy various software tweaks, themes and animations from McLaren. The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition will be available in Western Europe and North America starting December 13 for a price tag starting at £649 / $699 / €699. It will be available at a later date in India, China and the Nordics.
