Oppo Mobiles has introduced a new ‘A’ series smartphone in China. Dubbed the Oppo A1, the new mid-tier device shares a number of specs with the recently launched Oppo A83 (China and India), will arrive in Cherry Red and Dark Blue colours for a price tag of CNY 1,499 (US$ 237) starting April 1st.
The Oppo A1 has a 5.7-inch (1440 x 720 pixels) HD+ fullscreen display with 2.5D curved glass and 18:9 aspect ratio. On the inside, it is powered by a 2.5GHz octa-core Mediatek Helio P23 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB built-in storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD).
In the camera aspect, the smartphone has a single rear facing 13MP camera with LED flash alongside a front 8MP camera for selfies. The selfie camera has support for A.I beauty technology that scans up to 200 facial recognition spots and also supports face unlock to unlock the device by scanning 128 facial points.
The Oppo A1 boots ColorOS 3.2 based on Android Nougat OS and depend on a long-lasting 3,180mAh battery. It measures 150.5 x 73.1 x 7.7 mm, weighs 143 grams and support 4G LTE connectivity but does not have a fingerprint scanner.
