OPPO India recently unveiled the OPPO A3S, a cheaper and less powerful model of the OPPO A5. It is already available on sale via Amazon India, PayTM and Flipkart as well as offline stores for a price tag of INR 10,990 (~USD 160).
The OPPO A3S has a notched 6.2-inch (1440 x 720 pixels) HD+ FullView display with 19:9 aspect ratio and backed by a long-lasting 4,230mAh battery which offers up to 18 hours of mixed usage. It comes pre-loaded with ColorOS 5.1 and has a Music Party function which allows multiple users connect their devices to play music.
Internally, the smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card).
For photography, there is a 13MP + 2MP dual rear camera setup and a front facing 8MP camera with f/2.2 lens and AI Beauty 2.0. There is no fingerprint sensor but the front camera also supports speedy facial unlock. It arrives in Dark Purple and red colour options.
For comparisons sake, the OPPO A3s is within the price range of the Realme 1 (a collaborative effort between OPPO and Amazon India). The RealMe 1 is powered by the Helio P60 SoC (same as the OPPO F7) and is backed by a 3,410mAh battery.
Although, the A3s has a notched display, dual rear camera setup and a bigger battery; the Realme 1 offers more processing power, storage and memory for the same price range.
