Oppo A53 goes official with Snapdragon 616 SoC and 3075mAh battery

Oppo has listed up a new mid-range smartphone in the Oppo A series of devices in China. Dubbed the Oppo A53, the 5.5-inch sized device doesn’t bring anything specifically different from other devices in the series and has the same all-metal body. There is no word on potential launch date, pricing and availability.

Measuring 153 x 77 x 7.43mm in dimensions and weighing 165 grams in size; the Oppo A53 sports a 5.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) and a pixel density of 267ppi. It has Hybrid Dual SIM (micro SIM + nano SIM / microSD card slot) and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with ColorOS 2.1 UI ontop.

Under the hood, the device is powered by an Octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 MSM8939 processor clocked at 1.5GHz with Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage space which is expandable up to 128GB. Connectivity options onboard includes – Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/AGPS, micro USB 2.0 and 4G LTE/3G HSPA+.

The Oppo A53 has a front facing 5MP camera for selfies and a rear facing 13MP camera with LED flash. The phablet is backed by a 3750mAh battery with promise of up to 300 hours standby time and supports Oppo’s VOOC fast charging tech with the included 5V/2A adapter accessory in the box.
