Oppo A59s announced with 4GB RAM, 16MP Front Camera

Spotted sometimes last month on TENAA, Oppo Mobiles has officially introduced the Oppo A59s in China. The metal-clad device improves on the Oppo A59 launched earlier this year, and arrives in Rose Gold and Gold colours options.

Priced at CNY 1999 (US$ 297), the Oppo A59s sports a 5.5-inch HD display (267ppi) and is backed by a 3075mAh battery with VOOC flash charge technology. It sports a fingerprint sensor in the home button and runs the same Android 5.1 Lollipop with ColorOS 3.0 UI on top of it.

On the inside, the device is powered by an octa-core Mediatek MT6750 processor clocked at 1.5GHz paired with Mali-T860 GPU, 4GB of RAM and 32GB built-in expandable storage. It is equipped with Dual SIM slots, supports 4G LTE networks and VoLTE as well as the usual standard connectivity options.

In the camera segment, the Oppo A59s has a front facing 16MP camera for selfies and video chats, and a rear facing 13MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash.

In retrospect, much didn’t change from the Oppo A59. Key differences highlight the increase from 3GB to 4GB RAM, and the front selfie camera more than doubled from 5MP to 16MP. The rest of the specs remain the same.
