Earlier this month, Oppo released a new edition of its A71 mid-tier smartphone called the Oppo A71 (2018) in various Asian markets including India and Pakistan. It has basically all the specs found on the original A71 model except the fact that the processor has switched to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 450 octa-core SoC from the Mediatek MT6750 octa-core SoC.
The Oppo A71 (2018) also adds A.I Beauty Recognition tech which uses knowledge from a global image database to learn about user’s beauty and capture the right images with suitable beautify effect. It comes pre-loaded with ColorOS 3.2 (based on Android 7.1 Nougat OS) which offers additional features such as multi-tasking, game acceleration and Night Shield.
The smartphone has the same 5.2-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD TFT display, sleek metal unibody design, 2GB of RAM, 16GB built-in storage space (expandable up to 256GB via microSD) and a 3,000mAh battery which provides up to 15 hours of continous video playback time.
Photography is handled by a rear facing13MP camera with LED flash and features such as Ultra HD Technology for combining consecutive images (up to 32MP) and Multi-Frame Denoising Technology for reducing noise. The front camera is a 5MP snapper with 1.4μm pixels. There is no word on pricing in these markets and availability in other regions.
