Moments after the OPPO F5 Youth made its debut in Southeast Asia, the OPPO A79 made its debut in China. The latest entrant to the Chinese company’s ‘A’ branded series shares features such as Face Unlock, 16MP Selfie camera and Mediatek Helio P23 octa-core processor with the OPPO F5.
Pre-loaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS with ColorOS 3.2 on top, the OPPO A79 sports a 6-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) FHD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 86% screen-to-body ratio. It is backed by a slightly smaller 3,000mAh battery (compared to the 3,200mAh on the F5) and comes with VOOC Flash charge, which promises up to 2 hours of talk time with only five minute of charging.

The OPPO A79 is priced at CNY 2,399 (US$ 364) and will begin shipping from December 1 in China. It will arrive in Black, Blue and Champagne Gold colour options.
