Oppo has announced the Oppo N3, the latest smartphone in the N Series category from the company in an event in Singapore. The Oppo N3 succeeds the Oppo N1, and houses a 16MP auto-rotating camera which happens to be the highlight.
The 16MP rear camera on the Oppo N3 rotates up to 206 degrees, has dual LED flash, 1/2.3″ sensor, pixel size of 1.34microns, f/2.2 aperture and auto-rotates when taking selfies or panoramas. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the rear of the device to protect images with just a single swipe. The camera also shoots 4K video @ 30 fps, 1080p video @ 60fps, 720p slow motion video @ 120 fps.
Moving to the other specs, the Oppo N3 features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display with Corning Glass 3 protection and 400 pixel per inch . Under the hood is a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor (MSM8974AA) with Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot for expansion (up to 128GB).
There would be a Single SIM and Dual-SIM (micro SIM + Nano SIM) version of the device. The Oppo N3 measures 161.2 × 77 × 8.7mm, weighs 192 grams, and runs on the Color OS 2.0 based on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Connectivity options includes – Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC, Wifi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG, 4G LTE, GPS and 3G.
A 3000mAh battery powers the device and supports the company’s VOOC rapid charging tech which means the battery can charge from 0 to 70% in 30 minutes or get 2 hours of talk time with just 5 minutes of charging.
The Oppo N3 would be available in 20 market regions worldwide by the end of 2014 and would retail for ¥3999 ($654; N108,000 in Naira ) off-contract.
