Fresh off announcing the OPPO F9/F9 Pro, OPPO has revealed all the full details – specs, features and pricing of the OPPO R17. The device is priced at CNY 3,499 (~USD 509) and now available for pre-order from official OPPO website, JD.com, Lynx and Suning. It will go on sale in China from August 30th.
OPPO R17 sports a notched 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 19:9 aspect ratio, 91.5% screen-to-body ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. The front notch houses the 25MP selfie sensor with f/2.0 aperture, AI Beautify and 3D Portrait while the in-display fingerprint sensor, which sits below the display, also supports AliPay and WeChat.
On the inside, the smartphone is powered by the newly released Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 octa-core processor paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB built-in storage. The device is equipped with 16MP + 5MP dual rear cameras with AI scene recognition and comes pre-loaded with ColorOS 5.2 (Android Oreo OS).
The OPPO R17 is backed by a 3,500mAh battery with VOOC Flash Charge (5V/4A) technology and charges via a USB Type-C (USB 2.0) port. It arrives in Starry Purple and Twilight Blue colours.
The higher-end OPPO R17 Pro is expected to feature a triple rear camera setup with OIS and f/1.5/2.4 variable aperture. It is expected to retain the same display with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection and pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 octa-core SoC with up to 8GB of RAM.
