OPPO has unveiled the Pro edition of the OPPO R17 alongside the main edition, as expected. The OPPO R17 Pro comes with a number of advanced features not found on the R17 and could be tagged as the cheaper alternative to the Find X with more cameras and Super VOOC flash charge.
The OPPO R17 Pro is equipped with a 12MP primary camera with f/1.5 – f/2.4 variable aperture and OIS along with a 20MP secondary camera to capture depth information in portrait shots. The third camera is a 3D Time of Flight (TOF) depth sensor which is useful for capturing high-precision 3D depth information.
It has the same notched 6.4-inch Full HD+ 19:9 AMOLED waterdrop display with 91.5% screen-to-body ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection, front facing 25MP AI camera and in-display fingerprint sensor as the R17. It also has a USB Type-C port and boots ColorOS 5.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo OS.
The R17 Pro packs the Snapdragon 710 10nm octa-core SoC paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB built-in storage. It is backed by two 1,850mAh batteries – equivalent to 3,700mAh – with OPPO’s Super VOOC Flash Charge technology that was introduced on the Find X Lamborghini Edition.
Using the bundled 10V / 5A (50W) SuperVOOC charger, this technology charges the battery from 0 to 40% in just 10 minutes. The OPPO R17 Pro also comes with a unique colour scheme on the 3D glass back called ‘Fog Gradient’.
