Oppo launched the Oppo R1C back in January and the smartphone is currently available in China only. The company is said to be looking to launch the smartphone globally and it would come under a different name – Oppo R1x.
The Oppo R1x has the same specs as the Oppo R1C but the network bands are expected to be changed to suit the international market. Oppo has been working hard on designing slim smartphones of late with premium feel and the prices are affordable. The R1x has a metal frame, a Sapphire Glass panel back, measures around 6.85mm in thickness and weighs 130 grams.
Specs-wise, the device sports a 5-inch “Pixel Eye” HD screen, powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 MSM8939 ( four cortex-A53 cores @ 1.7GHz and four cortex-A53 cores @ 1GHz) which clocks at 1.7GHz with Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage. It also comes with a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 128GB).
The Oppo R1x makes use of a 13MP Sony IMX214 sensor with f/2.0 aperture and a front facing 5MP camera. The smartphone is LTE Ready, Dual SIM slots, has standard connectivity suites such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth; runs on Android 4.4 kitkat OS with Color OS 2.1 ontop. Finally the smartphone is backed by a 2420mAh battery.
There is no word on pricing and availability of the device; it would however have Sapphire Blue and Ice White Colour options.
