The Oppo R5 is one of the thinnest smartphone around but not the thinnest actually as the Coolpad Ivvi K1 Mini is. Oppo has decided to release a limited edition Gold model of the Oppo R5 and to be honest the smartphone really looks pleasing to the eye. The device was expected to debut ahead of Valentines day and the Chinese New Year; while Valentine has passed the Chinese New year is around the corner.
The Oppo R5 Limited Edition Gold model has the same specs as the silver model. It sports a 5.2-inch (1080 x 1920 pixels) Full HD AMOLED display with 2GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage. The device is backed by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor (octa-core) with a front 5MP camera and a 13MP main camera with LED flash.
The camera protudes the backside a bit and has golden rings around it. Other specs details includes – Color OS 2.0 ontop of Android 4.4 Kitkat OS, a 2000mAh battery, VOOC Mini flash charging technology, and it’s obvious ultra slim 4.85mm body. Due to its slimness the battery capacity has to be reduced and an audio jack as well as a microSD card slot had to be eliminated.
There is no talk of how much the Oppo R5 Limited Edition Gold Model would cost but it could cost a little more then the ¥2999 ($499) asking price for the Silver and Grey models.
