Oppo Mobile launched two smartphone – the Oppo R7 Plus and the Oppo R7 Lite into the Malaysian market. Both smartphones are priced at RM 1998 ($523) and RM 1298 ($340) respectively, pre-orders start July 11th and sales starts in August.
The Oppo R7 Lite has the same design as the Oppo R7 Plus but the specs has been slightly watered down. It sports a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) FHD AMOLED 2.5D Arc Edge display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD).
Under the hood it would be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 MSM8939 64-bit processor paired with Adreno 405GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage space. It would have a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 128GB).
Handling photography is a 13MP Sony Enhanced rear camera with LED flash and a front facing 8MP camera. Asides 4G LTE connectivity, the R7 Lite also has other standard options such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
The smartphone runs on ColorOS 2.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and is backed by a 2320mAh battery which skips on VOOC fast charging but has traditional fast charging features.
It comes with Dual SIM slots (4G LTE in both), the second SIM slot is a hybrid slot which also lets it double as a microSD card slot but user has to be content with using just one SIM in that condition.
