Oppo is reportedly working on the successor to the Oppo R5 – the Oppo R7 which is expected to go official at some point in the year.
The device has been certified on Indonesian Telecom authorities, Postel and the listing revealed the smartphone would come with LTE capability. The listing doesn’t reveal much about devices unlike TENAA or the FCC but we sure know the Oppo R7 has the codenamed Oppo R7f.
Some of the expected Oppo R7 Specs has been tipped by GizmoChina – the device is expected to be powered by the latest flagship chipset from MediaTek – the MT6795 which has eight cores (octa-core), is 64-bit enabled and clocks up to 2.2GHz. Asides that the device is also expected to pack a 20.7MP camera.
Oppo went all ultra-thin with the Oppo R5 (4.85mm), naturally a successor is supposed to improve on its predecessor. Even though the R5 was very slim the device has no audio jack and the battery life is poor. We will have to wait and see how Oppo has things figured out with the R7.
We expect the Oppo R7 to be internationally available as the company sells most of its devices globally.
