Oppo Mobiles has announced the long teased Oppo R9s and its bigger sibling – the Oppo R9s Plus at an event in China. As expected, both smartphones have a metal unibody design, home button embedded fingerprint sensor, VOOC Fast charging and boot Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) with ColorOS 3.0.
The highlight of both devices is the presence of a front facing 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and 5P lens alongside a rear facing 16MP camera with Sony IMX398 sensor, EIS and f/1.7 aperture with dual-focus technology. The R9s Plus adds OIS + support.
The Oppo R9s sports a 5.5-inch Full HD 2.5D curved glass display, Hybrid Dual SIM slots, 4G VoLTE and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor along with 4GB of RAM, 64GB built-in storage space and relies on a 3010mAh battery.
On its path, the 7.35mm thin Oppo R9s Plus has a bigger 6-inch display with the same screen resolution and protection as the R9s and backed by a bigger 4000mAh battery. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 processor along with 6GB of RAM and 64GB built-in expandable storage.
The Oppo R9s is priced at CNY 2799 (US$ 415) and will go on sale on October 28th while the Oppo R9s Plus will be available by December for CNY 3499 (US$ 519) in China. Both arrive in Black, Gold and Rose Gold colour options.
