Ahead of the China’s Spring Festival (the Chinese New Year), Oppo has released a limited colour edition of the Oppo R9s – in Singapore & Taiwan. The Oppo R9s Special Red Edition is listed up in Singapore for a price tag of SG$ 679 (US$ 479). Red is the most popular colour in China. In Chinese culture, the colour symbolizes goodluck and is also believed to ward away evil.
Asides the change in colour, the Oppo R9s Special Red Edition keeps virtually the same specs as the original edition. The highlight of is its rear placed 16MP camera with EIS and f/1.7 aperture with Dual focusing technology as well as a front 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and Beautify 4.0.
The device sports a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass, 1080p FHD screen resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The rest of the specs includes 4GB of RAM, 64GB built-in storage, microSD card slot (up to 256GB), Hybrid Dual SIM slots, Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 2.0GHz and 4G VoLTE.
The Oppo R9s Special Red Edition also runs ColorOS 3.0 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS and backed by a 3160mAh Li-Po battery with VOOC Fast Charger. The fingerprint sensor remains embedded into the front home button.
