OPPO has teamed up with Amazon India to launch a new ‘Realme’ smartphone sub-brand in India. The first device from the alliance, the OPPO RealMe 1 will be available starting May 25 on Amazon.in starting with the 3GB RAM and 6GB RAM options while the 4GB RAM option will arrive in June.
Housed in a diamond-like glossy body with a bright polished frame, the Realme 1 has a notch-less 6-inch (2160 x 1080 pixels) Full HD+ IPS display with 1.98mm slim bezels on the side, 84.8% screen-to-body ratio, three-slot SIM tray (2x Nano SIM slots + microSD) and a 3,410mAh battery with AI battery management to deliver up to 15 hours of battery life on a single charge.
Internally, the smartphone packs the MediaTek Helio P60 12nm octa-core processor paired with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB built-in expandable storage space. It also boots ColorOS 5.0 (built on Android 8.1 Oreo OS) and supports dual 4G VoLTE connectivity.
Photography is handled by a rear facing 13MP f/2.2 camera with LED flash and a front facing 8MP f/2.2 camera with AI Recognition (Face Unlock). The camera boasts of smart features such as AR stickers, AI beauty mode, Vivid Bokeh and AI Scene Recognition.
Available in Diamond black and Moonlight silver colours, the RealMe 1 is priced at INR 8,990 (USD 133) for the 3GB RAM with 32GB storage model and INR 10,990 (USD 162) for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage option. The top shelf 6GB RAM with 128GB storage costs INR 13,990 (USD 206).
PS: Each smartphone will have a free screen guard and case in the box. At the launch, OPPO confirmed it currently has two R&D centres, two manufacturing plans and over 500 service centers across India.
