Just months after the launch of the OPPO Reno 2 series, the company has unveiled the OPPO Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro with ColorOS 7 at the Hangzhou International Expo center in China. Both variants have quad rear cameras, glass backs with gradient colours, Dolby Atmos stereo speakers, support for 5G connectivity (SA/NSA) and 32MP (f/2.4) selfie camera. The also have four antennas and are equipped with a software which uses Algorithm (AI) to choose the ideal antenna and manage network usage whilst ensuring the battery is not drained in the process.
OPPO Reno 3
The Reno 3 holds the title for being the first device to be powered by Mediatek’s Dimensity 1000L (MT6885Z) 7nm processor. It has a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, waterdrop notch and 20:9 aspect ratio, an in-display fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C port and depends on a 4,025mAh battery with 30W VOOC 4.0 fast charging.
For photography, it packs a primary 64MP (f/1.8) camera paired with an 8MP (f/2.2) 116-degree ultra-wide-angle lens, 2MP macro lens and 2MP (f/2.4) mono lens. The 8GB + 128GB model costs CNY 3,399 (US$ 486) while the 12GB + 128GB model will sell for CNY 3,699 (US$ 529).
OPPO Reno 3 Pro
The Reno 3 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 765G 7nm EUV Mobile Platform and depends on a 4,020mAh battery with 30W VOOC 4.0 fast charging. It has a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 20:9 aspect ratio, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, 97% NTSC color gamut, 500nit brightness and 90Hz refresh rate; in-display fingerprint sensor, no audio jack and USB Type-C port.
The quad rear camera setup includes a primary 48MP (f/1.7) camera with Sony IMX586 sensor and LED flash, paired with an 8MP (f/2.2) 116-degree ultra-wide-angle lens, 13MP (f/2.4) telephoto lens for 5x Hybrid Optical Zoom and 20X digital zoom, and 2MP (f/2.4) mono lens. The 8GB + 128GB model is priced at CNY 3,999 (US$ 572); 12GB + 128GB model costs CNY 4,499 (US$ 643).
OPPO will also release a special Pantone-matched Classic Blue edition of the Reno 3 Pro (8GB + 128GB model) that is priced at CNY 4,199 (US$ 600). The company also unveiled its wireless earbud – the Enco Free buds which would come with a battery case that offers up to 25 hours of playback time. The earbuds are available in Black and Pink (Valentine’s day) for CNY 699 (US$ 101).
