Oppo U3 passes through TENAA, 5.9-inch Full HD display and 13MP camera with 4X Optical Zoom

In November 2015, Oppo U3 made an appearance on GFX Benchmark listing and some of the specs were briefly stated. The smartphone has now been certified on TENAA (Chinese equivalent of FCC in the US) which means it could arrive anytime in the nearest future.

There are some differences between the GFX Benchmark listing and TENAA’s listing. The former states that the device would pack a 4.6-inch Full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) while the latter states the device would feature a 5.9-inch display with the same resolution. Under the hood, there would be an octa-core processor which clocks at 1.7GHz (maybe the MediaTek MT6752 SoC) with 2GB of RAM, 16GB space of internal storage and a microSD card slot for expansion.

There is a main 13MP camera with LED flash and a 4X optical Zoom. The listing states the Oppo U3 would measure 9mm in thickness which makes it the thinnest smartphone to offer a 4X optical zoom. The recently announced Zenfone Zoom measures 11.95mm in thickness. The device is however heavy at 180grams. There is also a front facing 5MP camera on-board.

Oppo is expected to debut the Oppo PM-3 headset alongside the Oppo U3. The PM-3 is said to be a closed-back planar magnetic headphone which has been been scheduled to launch this January.
