Blackberry Mobile’s hardware partner for the Indian market, Optiemus Infracom has announced the BlackBerry Evolve and Blackberry Evolve X. The duo have a 5.99-inch (2160 x 1080 pixels) Full HD+ IPS LCD Fulscreen display with 18:9 aspect ratio, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, textured back like the Blackberry KEY2, dual-rear cameras, rear fingerprint sensors (0.3s unlock time) and face unlock (0.4s unlock time).
The Blackberry Evolve ships with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 octa-core SoC paired with 4GB of RAM while the Blackberry Evolve X packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core SoC paired with 6GB of RAM. Both come pre-loaded with Android 8.1 Oreo OS and have 64GB built-in storage space.
The Evolve features 12MP (f/1.8, 1.4um) + 13MP (f/2.6, 1.0um) dual rear cameras while the Evolve X is equipped with 13MP (RBG) + 13MP (Monochrome) dual rear cameras. Both have the same front facing 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and selfie flash as well as Bokeh and studio modes.
The Blackberry Evolve and Evolve X are backed by a 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support and wireless charging. The DTEK by BlackBerry suite comes pre-installed along with the Blackberry Hub, Privacy Shade and Battery-Saver mode.
The Evolve will be available later this month for INR 24,990 (USD 364) while the Evolve X will go on sale next month (September) for INR 34,990 (USD 510). Both models will be available on Amazon India, though the Evolve X will be exclusive to Amazon.
