Orange Kenya has announced Kaduda -an entry-level handset for the Kenyan market and obviously aimed at first time smartphone users in the country. The device supports Dual SIM functionality and is contract locked on one SIM and the other SIM is open to be used on other network offerings.
Other specs features of Orange Kaduda includes – 1.3 Megapixel camera, microSD card slot, Bluetooth and offers cellular data connectivity. Much of the specs of the device was not unveiled but the Kaduda is tipped as having a very long battery life also with the option of activating a ‘Super Battery Mode’.
According to Orange Kenya, it is looking to provide value and quality to its existing, and potential, subscribers but more so towards making handsets more accessible and affordable to all.
Orange Kaduda is available on sale for KSh 999; and would be available across all Orange and partners stores in the country in Red, Black and White colour option.
At the MWC 2015, Orange announced the Orange Klif digital package which includes – a smartphone, data, text and voice bunde for a price under US$ 40. The Orange Klif Smartphone is made by Alcatel OneTouch, runs on Firefox OS 2.0 and would be available in Mid-Eastern Countries and over 10 African countries including Kenya and Ivory Coast.
