Oukitel U9 is an octa-core 5.5-inch 1080p 2.5D display, 3 GB of RAM and Worldmode LTE costs $200

Most people have not heard of Oukitel, even people in China might have not come across the name as the company works behind the scene to manufacture and do market research for other firms. The company is ready to launch another flagship device under their brand name; the smartphone is called the Oukitel U9 and it would succeed the Oukitel U8 (also known as the Elephone P7000).

The Oukitel U9 sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD OGS display with Dual 2.5D Glass. The smartphone comes with 3GB of RAM to handle tasks, 16GB space of internal storage space, sports a rear facing 16MP Sony made camera and there is no word on the resolution of the front camera (maybe a 5MP one).

It would presumably run on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and like the Elephone P8000, the U9 supports Worldmode 4G LTE which doesn’t restrict the device to work with LTE Bands in China (or maybe Asia) alone. This is made possible by the octa-core 64-bit MediaTek MT6753 processor. According to the company the specs are not final yet, so ther could still be some changes, maybe for better or otherwise.

The Oukitel U9 would be available in starting from Mid-July in White, Black and a mixture of White + Gold colour options. There is no word on pricing from the company but it is expected to be priced around the $200 mark.
