Following the recent launch of the Eluga A4, Panasonic India has released yet another mid-range Eluga series smartphone called the Panasonic Eluga I5. It has a similar rear fingerprint scanner, 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) screen resolution and metal body build but skips the ARBO AI-based Assistant.
The Panasonic Eluga I5 has a 5-inch 2.5D curved glass display with Asahi Dragon Trail Glass protection, 2GB of RAM, 16GB built-in expandable storage (up to 128GB via microSD) and hybrid dual SIM slots (nano + nano / microSD). It measures 143 x 71 x 7.5 mm and weighs 145.5 grams.
Photography is handled by a rear facing 13MP camera with 5P lens, f/2.2 aperture and LED flash as well as HDR, Face Beauty and Panoramic modes. The front camera is a 5MP snapper with 3P lens and f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video chats. Internally, the device relies on a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor clocked at 1.25GHz with Mali-T720 GPU and boots Android 7.0 Nougat OS.
Available in Black and Gold colours, the Panasonic Eluga I5 supports 4G LTE connectivity with Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and depends on a 2,500mAh battery for power. It is priced at Rs. 6499 (US$ 100) and available exclusively on Flipkart.
