Panasonic India has commenced sales of the Panasonic ELUGA Icon 2 – the follow-up of the Eluga Icon from last year. The low mid-range smartphone comes with the company’s FitHome UI based on Android OS (more likely Lollipop than Marshmallow) and like most devices released in India nowadays – Voice over LTE (VoLTE).
Backed by a smaller yet sizeable 3000mAh battery compared to the 3500mAh on the ELUGA Icon, the Panasonic ELUGA Icon 2 sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) screen resolution, Dual SIM slots and supports India’s 4G LTE (Cat. 4) networks.
On the inside, the device is powered by a Mediatek MT6753 Octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in expandable storage space. In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 13MP camera with LED flash.
The front selfie camera resolution has also shrunk from 8MP to 5MP. The Panasonic ELUGA Icon 2 is listed on Amazon India starting at Rs. 8499 (US$ 127) and could rise up to Rs. 8790 (US$ 131). Brown is the only available colour option.
