The Panasonic Eluga Icon is said to have a display between 5-inch and 5.5-inch, whatever the display size turns out it would have a HD resolution – 1280 x 720 pixels. Under the hood it would be powered by a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor clocked at 1.7GHz with Mali-T720 GPU.

It would boot LeWa OS (based on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS) which is the world’s first custom Android ROM to support Dual SIM Dual standby feature. Even though there is no word on pricing, LeWa OS is mostly used on most smartphone not selling for more than the equivalent of $126, so we are looking at a sub-$150 price tag here.

TCL Communications would handle the manufacturing of the Eluga Icon for Panasonic i.e TCL would serve as the ODM. The device is expected to go on sale in India whenever it goes official, the same market where the company sells most of its smartphones now.

The last smartphone from the Eluga Series is the Panasonic Eluga Z smartphone; the 6.8mm thin device has a 13MP rear camera, 5-inch HD AMOLED display, metal body build, True Octa-core SoC, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, 3G, backed by a 2050mAh battery and priced at INR 13490 ($212).

Thanks for the tip.
