Panasonic India has launched a new budget smartphone in its home country. Priced at the equivalent of Rs. 3199 ($47); the Panasonic T44 Lite has a smallish 4-inch display just like the Apple iPhone SE, however, the specs are worlds apart with or without comparisons.
Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, the Panasonic T44 Lite sports a 4-inch display with 800 x 480 pixels (WVGA) screen resolution and is backed by a generous 2400mAh battery, which should provide up to 400 hours on Standby and up to 20 hours of talk time on 2G network.
A peek on the inside shows a quad-core Mediatek processor clocked at 1.3GHz, paired along with 512MB of RAM, 8GB built-in storage space and a microSD card slot for storage expansion. Photography is handled by a rear placed 2-megapixel camera and a front 0.3-megapixel (VGA) for video calling.
The Panasonic T44 Lite runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out-of-the-box and will arrive in Champagne Gold, Electric Blue and Rose Gold colour options. The choice of the processor confirms it is a 3G-only smartphone. Other connectivity options available include – Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro USB 2.0, GPS and Bluetooth.
PS: The Panasonic T44 Lite is the toned down version of the already affordable Panasonic T44 and is priced lesser.
