Panasonic T50 with 4.5-inch display, Sail UI, 1600mAh Battery

Panasonic has a new entry-level smartphone in the company’s T series devices in India. Dubbed the Panasonic T50, the 4.5-inch sized device which has a price tag of Rs 4990 (US$ 75) runs the company’s Sail UI which is heralded as the ‘smoothest Android user interface yet.’

Commenting on the launch in a statement, Business head, mobility division, Panasonic India, Pankaj Rana;

“Our latest introduction in the Indian market comes with Panasonic’s in-house software, the SAIL user interface. The UI is even integrated into a specialised SAIL camera. It is an app-driven smartphone that offers multi-app smoothness for a flawless user experience in a handheld device.”

Panasonic’s Sail UI is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with fluid interface that allows seamless switching between multiple apps, interesting features and advanced launcher settings such as Theme Club, Gesture Control, File Manager and Batch Arranging.

Measuring 131.7 x 66.3 x 8.8mm in dimensions, the T50 sports a 4.5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) FWVGA IPS display, has Dual SIM slots, shiny metal-looking body build, backed by a rather small-sized 1600mAh battery and comes in Champagne Gold, Midnight Blue and Rose Gold colour options.

Under the hood, the Panasonic T50 is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz with 1GB of RAM, 8GB built-in storage and a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 32GB. Connectivity options available includes – 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS and Micro-USB.

For photography, there is a front facing 2-megapixel camera and rear facing 5-megapixel camera with LED flash. By virtue of the UI the camera packs features such as the Nine beauty camera modes including Pose Mode, Child Mode & Watermark.
