Panasonic has unveiled a new VR Headset Prototype in Japan this week. Obviously, he company didn’t want to wait on showcase the VR headset at the MWC 2015 and decided to do that at the Wonders Japan Solution event which took place between February 12 and 14, 2015.
The Panasonic VR Headset Prototype is a pair of rality googles that offers a wide viewing angle of 90-degrees and has an OLED panel display. It also has a frame rate up to 75fps and can be hooked to the ear like glasses so that they can easily be worn.
Panasonic also showcased a omnidirectional camera equipped with seven image sensors. The camera is expected to be used at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic games and can be used to view activities over a very long distance in any desired viewpoint.
Panasonic has no made a decision to commercialise both the VR Headset and the Omnidirectional camera with Seven image sensors.
VR Headset are used for enjoying virtual reality; Panasonic’s prototype covers a whole field of view and shows an omnidirectional image in accordance with movements of the head. Sony’s Project Morpheus, Samsung’s Gear VR, Occulus Rift and Google Cardboard are some of the examples of available VR headsets/googles.
