Rescued from the brink of liquidation, Pantech is forging ahead into the smartphone scene by launching new smartphone offerings in Vietnam. The Pantech V955 is the second official smartphone after the Pantech V950 to launch in the Vietnamese market.
Based on the Hisense Pureshot+, the Pantech V955 sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with 2.5D Glass, 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) screen resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Available in either White or Black colour options, it is available for a price tag of VND 5,990,000 (USD 269).
Under the hood, the device relies on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 415 MSM8929 processor clocked at 1.4GHz with Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB RAM and 16GB built-in storage space. For additional storage space, there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB.
In the camera segment, there is a front facing 5-megapixel FF camera with Front LED flash for selfies and video chats; and a rear facing 13-megapixel AF camera with f/2.0 aperture, Dual LED flash. Connectivity options available includes – Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, micro USB 2.0 and GPS/A-GPS.
The Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS running Pantech V955 has Dual Micro SIM slots, supports 4G, WCDMA, EVDO, GSM and CDMA networks, and is backed by a 2500mAh battery.
