The third largest mobile operator in Israel, Pelephone Communication has announced a new smartphone under its own ‘Gini’ brand. The Pelephone Gini W5 as the device is known is available for a price tag of 999 Israeli New Shekel (USD 258) in White and Blue colour options.
Moving to the specifications, the Pelephone Gini W5 sports a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) screen resolution, a pixel density of 282ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It has majorly a plastic body build, measures 155 x 76.4 x 7.5mm in dimension and weighs 158 grams.
The device relies on an octa-core Mediatek MT6753 Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 1.3GHz with Mali-T720 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB built-in storage space and a microSD card slot for storage expansion. Connectivity options onboard includes Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and 4G LTE.
In the camera segment, there is a front facing 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video chats; and a rear facing 13-megapixel camera with LED flash. The Pelephone Gini W5 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and is backed by a removable 3150mAh battery with up to 9 hours of talk time and up to 252 hours of standby time.
