Earlier today, Oppo took off the covers off the Oppo R7s at the GITEX 2015 in Dubai. It would be available in 10 different regions and countries including Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam as well as the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) regions starting this November. Those in the US and Europe will be able to purchase directly from the company’s OPPOstyle website by December.
In terms of display, the Oppo R7s sits between the Oppo R7 (5-inch) and R7 Plus (6-inch) smartphones; it sports a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (FHD) with 2.5D Glass ontop. Under the hood, it powered by an octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with Adreno 405 GPU, 4GB of RAM and 32GB native storage space.
For additional storage, there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB. Handling photography on the R7s is a 8MP front facing camera for selfies and a rear facing 13MP camera; the rear camera has Phase Detection AutoFocus (PDAF) which focuses in just about 0.1 sec.
Compared to other R7x models, the camera app is 30% faster than its predecessors. The Oppo R7s measures 151.8 x 75.4 x 6.95 mm in dimensions, weighs 155 grams, has Dual SIM (4G + 3G) and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with ColorOS 2.1 ontop.
It is backed by a non-removable 3070mAh Li-Po battery with Oppo’s VOOC charging technology; it guarantees up to 13 hours 15 minutes of continuous usage while VOOC ensures the R7s charges up to 90% in 50 mins or 2 hours of talktime on just 5 minutes of charges.
