Ulefone has announced the flagship Ulefone Be Touch smartphone. The Be Touch would have been a flagship killer (is still a flagship killer) but for its 720p HD resolution display but word on the sphere is this is the HD edition, a Full HD edition is expected to drop later. Asides that it doesn’t disappoint much, as it’s body is moulded from aviation-grade Aluminium-magnesium body with a stainless-steel frame with 2.5D Arc glass design.
The 5.5-inch 720p IPS OGS display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and the fingerprint sensor is located on the home button (uTouch). Under the hood, it is powered by a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor clocked at 1.7GHz with a Dual-Core 700MHz Mali-T760 MP2 GPU paired with 3GB of RAM and 16GB space of expandable internal storage. There is a microSD card slot on board which supports 64GB more storage space.
On the rear is a 13MP Sony IMX214 Exmor RS sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 5MP OmniVision OV5648 sensor for selfies. Connectivity options on the device – Micro USB 2.0, Dual band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot and GPS/AGPS/GLONASS. It supports 2G GSM, 3G WCDMA and 4G LTE Cat. 4 networks; Hall Effect Sensor, Gravity Sensor, Ambient Light Sensor, Touch Sensor, Digital Compass are the available sensor options.
The Ulefone Be Touch measures 77.4 x 158.1 x 8.6 mm, weighs 160 g, comes with Dual SIM slots (Micro SIM + Mini SIM) with Dual Standby and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. It is backed by a 2550mAh battery which comes with Quick Charge technology, up to 35% in 15 minutes. It is available in Metal Grey and Silk White colour options for a price tag around $219.99.
