The Phicomm Energy 653 follows the launch of the Phicomm Passion 660 in India; the 4G LTE enabled smartphone is available starting today (August 10) on Amazon India (Amazon.in) for a price tag of Rs 4999 ($78) in Black and White colour options.
Moving to the key specs, the Phicomm Energy 653 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box and the word energy doesn’t mean it has a huge battery life rather it manages a barely capable 2230mAh one. It sports a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD), weighs 125 grams in size and measures 144 x 70 x 8mm in dimensions.
Under the hood, it is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 MSM8909 processor clocked at 1.1GHz paired with Adreno 304 GPU, 1GB of RAM and 8GB space of internal storage. For additional storage, a microSD card slot which supports up to 64GB cards is available.
Asides support for 4G LTE, other connectivity options includes – GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0. On the rear, the Phicomm Energy 653 has a rear facing 8 megapixels AutoFocus camera with f/2.4 aperture and LED flash; while the front camera is a 2 megapixels snapper. It is Dual SIM enabled as expected, comes with FM Radio and 3.5mm audio jack.
